The statues, and other Italian marble garden statuary, were removed by her family after Violet's death, causing great consternation amongst Mr Stubbs and the surviving tenants, to whom she granted life-long tenancies upon her demise. There was little love between her tenants and her relatives, who reportedly were seen looting the property as the hearse and funeral party passed by.
